UPDATE: So, I was hoping to have some more for you all to see by now, but installation of a new OS on the computer has got me just about a day behind. Should have more by this time tomorrow!

After a two week break (which made me waaaay too lazy!) it was good to be back in the saddle. It’s amazing how fast fourteen or so hours can fly by!

I started my day at Buffer Park Golf Course on the south side of Indianapolis. I don’t claim to know very much about golf, but it appears that Justin is a pretty capable player. Brittany had given him some clubs as a gift, and I reminded her to be careful what she wishes for! Some guys can spend a lot of time on the course.

I was greeted by Tonya from Circle City Planners upon arriving at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. We’ve done a few weddings together now and it’s a joy working with her and her team. It was a very hot day, so we decided to work mostly inside. I think we found some wonderful opportunities… but my personal highlight of the entire day is the final shot of the evening that you see here – so dramatic!!!

Thanks to a huge bridal party for being so cooperative and patient with my team and me, thank you to two wonderful families for the hospitality, and as always a personal thank you to Tory and Michael.

Thank you to Meaghan and Alex for accommodating my holiday weekend and giving me a couple of hours of their time together (Alex was in from Texas). Thanks, too, to Michael for his help… we nailed the “under the bridge” shots thanks in part to his efforts.

I keep experiencing a recurring phenomenon – I find myself enjoying my work sooo much that I don’t even feel like I’m working. I know it sounds contrived, but I really mean it! I had a great time with Mike and Lin. From the stop at McDonald’s, to Ben & Jerry’s in the park, to the champagne toast on the party bus, it was a laid-back and fun day from beginning to finish.

The bridal party really added to our experience on Friday, too. Kate, Lisa, Jamie, Lindsey (sp?) – you ladies were wonderful! And to the Davids, Josh and Matt – thanks guys, it was a pleasure!

Tory and Michael were lifesavers as usual, and the Bridgewater Club made it a first-class experience all the way. Check out my first bunch of favorites, and check back in a day or two – there’ll be an album design, their Signature Edition Print and lots more, so don’t be a stranger!

Two words: Boiler Up! That could easily sum up the theme of Natalie and David’s West Lafayette wedding. BUT, for me the theme was simply working for a beautiful couple, and beautiful couple of families. Would it be dorky to say that Natalie and David are extremely well-rounded people? I know it sounds simple, but to each be so intelligent, energetic, considerate AND have a sense of humor… it’s all quite amazing! The same goes for their families – a personal thank you to Margie, Walter, Janet, Ronald, Thomas and Lauren for being so helpful, patient and kind.

Thanks also to Tory and Michael, they were lifesavers as always, and the bridal party for helping make it an easy day! Special thanks to Paul from the Lafayette Country Club for catering to EVERY need during the reception. Kent from from WSL DJ service was on hand to keep the party moving, and it’s safe to say we all had a great time! Oh, and check out the beautiful bouquets and arrangements from Rubia Flower Market in West Lafayette!

What a nice little road trip. My wife Tara joined me for Lin and Mike’s engagement session in Indianapolis on Saturday. Lin and Mike are seriously fun to work with, and make quite enjoyable dinner company – after our work at Lucas Oil Stadium we had a very nice meal at Bourbon Street Distillery together. Best of all, they’re very … punctual!… little inside joke! Check out some of our photos! The rest can be viewed here.

P.S. Afterwords Tara and I had a late night cocktail at the Red Key Tavern at College and 52nd. It was… interesting.

Saturday was an easy day for me – I was working in Lafayette, I had Tory and my new assistant Michael with me, and I was working for a couple of great families! Thank you again to Jan for arranging things for me, thanks to Sara and the girls for braving a COLD day in May, and Russell and the guys for being so patient and attentive toward our needs. Whew. Whirl. Wind. Day.

Jason and Chaslyn’s event lived up to every expectation and then some! Being my first wedding of 2010, I’d been building up the pressure on myself… probably unnecessarily — Jason and Chaslyn are so kind, so dynamic, so easy to work with, that all I have to do is point the camera in their general direction and press the shutter button. Viola! A fantastic image!

Also making the day an easy one was the team from Circle City Planners and also Katie from Crowne Plaza Union Station. A big thanks, too, to Bob Foresman and Velocity Sound Service and Gary Higgins – it’s always great working with an accommodating, professional DJ and videographer.

Finally! Wedding season is back and I will have serious blogging to do again! Like I told Brittany, I was starting to feel like I wasn’t a wedding photographer any more after that long winter break!
